There has been lately a lot of huffing and puffing from both Muslims and the right-wing Judaeo-Christian blogsphere over Geert Wilders film entitled "Fitna".

For the most part the Muslim reaction to the incendiary Dutch politician's film has been muted. Our nightly news broadcasts have not been abound with images from Muslim rioters across the globe baying for the blood of Geert Wilders, his family or anything Dutch.

I am sure that the lack of a violent response from the Muslim community worldwide has really disappointed the right-wing Judaeo-Christian blogsphere.

Just the thought of a Geert Wilders film on Islam I am sure has sent many a right-wing Judaeo-Christian bigot into an orgasmic frenzy of Islam bashing. If questioned as to why they support the film I am sure that many of these "experts on Islam" will say that they are support and defend Geert Wilders right to freely express himself.

Talking about freedom of expression last week a senior French civil servant by the of name Bruno Guigue was dismissed from his post by the Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie.

It appears that Bruno Guigue's "crime" seems to be that he expressed himself pretty much like Geert Wilders over the internet but in Guigue's case he lost his job:

"A French senior civil servant has been sacked for publishing a violent anti-Israeli diatribe on a web site, the interior ministry said.

Bruno Guigue, deputy prefect of the southwestern town of Saintes, wrote in an online column this month that Israel was "the only state where snipers shoot down little girls outside their school gates."

The author of several books on the Israli-Palestinian conflict, Guigue wrote of the "Israeli jails where -- thanks to religious law -- they stop torturing on the Sabbath."

Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie dismissed the official after learning of the column on Wednesday, the ministry said." (Source:AFP)

I wonder how many in the right-wing Judaeo-Christian blogosphere will be just as eager to support Bruno Guigue's freedom of expression and views as they are to support Geert Wilder's freedom of expression and his views?

Maybe the problem here is not the freedom of expression but rather the freedom to incite and target. In Geert Wilders case those being incited against and being targeted are Muslim. Where as in Bruno Guigue case those being exposed are the Israeli state.

For Geert Wilders the right wing Judaeo-Christian blogspehere only has praise. But for Bruno Guigue I am sure they only have hate.

Maybe it is an underlying hatred of Islam and Muslims that primarily drives those in the right-wing Judaeo-Christian blogsphere to support Geert Wilders rather than any notional love for the freedom of expression.

A new report from the Czech republic has surfaced. Authored by the Brno-based Islamic Foundation it says that hatred and intolerance towards Muslims has been increasing in the east European country:

"Hatred and intolerance of Muslims and Muslim nations have mounted in the Czech Republic over the past few years, Munib Hasan, chairman of the Brno-based Islamic Foundation, says in a statement sent to CTK Saturday.

He said this is to blame on the media, politicians and certain interest groups, but also individual Muslims, and called for reconciliation and tolerance to be exercised by both Muslims and the Czech majority.

"We are afraid of the day when this venomous campaign against Islam and Muslims results in physical attacks, which creates an atmosphere of fear and instability in society," says the statement....

...The Brno Islam believers said in the statement Europe is their home and that they feel bound to observe the Czech legal order.

"We call on Czech Muslims to continue to protect the calm course of life in this country," the statement says.

An active Muslim community lives in Brno. Ten years ago a mosque was built in the city to which about 120 believers come to pray." (Source: Prague Daily Monitor)

I am a little surprised by this news item. By all accounts the entire Muslim population of the Czech republic is around 20,000. That is 20,000 Muslims in 10,000,000 non-Muslim Czechs. Hardly a case of the mass migration of hordes of Islamic barbarians is it ? So where is all this hate coming from?

Firstly we had the Protestant Christian in the Netherlands turning on Geert Wilders. The controversial right-wing member of the Dutch Parliament who is a self proclaimed expert on Islam and now notorious film producer.

Now reports are surfacing in the international media that leading Dutch business' are demanding that Geert Wilders compensates companies whose business have been affected by his anti-Islam film "Fitna":

"Dutch employers association VNO-NCW demanded that legislator Geert Wilders compensate Dutch businesses abroad which have been harmed by his controversial film Fitna, chairman Bernard Wientjes said in an interview with the daily Het Financieele Dagblad on Saturday.

On Thursday, Islam-critic Wilders released a 16-minute film Fitna, warning of radical Islam and the alleged 'Islamization' of the Netherlands....

...Several Arab countries are due to discuss Wilders' film Fitna at the Arab summit in Damascus this weekend.

'If they decide to boycott Dutch businesses, it will harm Dutch exports. Companies like Shell, Philips and Unilever are easily recognizable as Dutch companies,' Wenties told Het Financieele Dagblad.

'I do not know how rich Geert Wilders is, and whether he has a good insurance. But if there is a boycott, we will investigate whether we can hold Wilders accountable.'

Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard and Dutch-Moroccan rapper Salah Edin have each threatened legal action against Wilders unless he removes their copyrighted work from Fitna.

Wilders used Westergaard's famous caricature of the Prophet Mohammed without his permission and without paying copyright.

In the case of Edin, known for his derogatory and discriminatory rap texts about Dutch society and women, and also a Holocaust denier, Wilders erroneously used his picture to portray Mohammed Bouyeri, the convicted killer of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh.

The photo originated from the cover of a 2007 rap album entitled The Dutch Biggest Nightmare in which Edin was posing as a lookalike of Mohammed Bouyeri, an image he has maintained ever since." ( Source: M&C News)

The film "Fitna" surely has caused a bit of a fitna. But maybe that was the intention behind its production and broadcast along.

Most people will have never heard of Lieutenant Commander Brian K. Waite. But to those in the know he is a respected member of the United States armed forces and an exceedingly intelligent theologian and author.

Here is a brief biography of the Lieutenant Commander's life:

"Dr. Brian K. Waite currently serves as one of the primary Chaplains for the Naval Submarine Support Command in Norfolk,VA....

... Prior to this assignment, he served with the 2nd Marine Division in Camp LeJeune, NC from August 2002 to July 2004. In this capacity, he served as the Command Chaplain for the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion (Special Forces), Headquarters’ Battalion (2nd Marine Division), 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine’s Regiment, and 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion – eventually being selected by the Commanding General to serve on his executive staff as the Deputy Division Chaplain for the entire 2nd Marine Division....

...He holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies, a M.Div. in Biblical Languages (Hebrew and Greek), a M.B.A. in International Relations (Middle East emphasis), a D.Min. in Religious Studies, and a Ph.D. in Historical Theology. Chaplain Waite has also served in the post-doctoral studies program of the University of South Africa, as well as lectured and taught at numerous Universities and Institutions of Higher Learning around the World. Further more, he holds diplomat status with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the position of certified “Field Traumatologist” with the International Traumatology Institute at the University of South Florida. (Source: Heart Spring Media)

Dr. Waite has been in a spot of bother lately as he has been dismissed from his current post at the Graduate Theological Foundation (GTF) in South Bend, Indiana.

The main allegations against the chaplain seem to be his views on Islam and a propensity to having obtained qualifications from unaccredited awarding bodies:

"A top Navy chaplain who wrote a book several years ago attacking Islam, calling the religion “evil,” and urging the United States to launch a “jihad” against the faith, has been fired from a prestigious theological institute after officials at the school recently became aware of the chaplain’s controversial book.

Lieutenant Commander Brian K. Waite's dismissal comes nine days after an investigative story I wrote click here exposed his stance on Islam as well as the chaplain’s numerous degrees and training which were obtained through discredited diploma mills, one of which was the subject of a criminal investigation.

Chaplain Waite first came under scrutiny last year after a senior researcher for the government watchdog group The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org, an organization that seeks to enforce the separation of church and state in the US military, discovered that Waite appeared in uniform on a website for a fundamentalist Christian group. Waite used his position as a Navy chaplain to promote the fundamentalist organization in what appears to be a violation of long-standing military rules.

In an email I obtained, John Morgan, president of the Graduate Theological Foundation (GTF) in South Bend, Indiana, wrote to members of his faculty March 20 that Chaplain Waite was “dismissed” from the school’s faculty and “is NO LONGER affiliated with the Foundation in any capacity” because of offending material in Waite’s book, “Islam Uncovered.” The book, which was first discovered by MRFF last year, was not included in Waite’s lengthy bio that was once posted on the foundation’s website.

In the book, Waite writes that the Islamic faith itself was culpable for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

"Undoubtedly our world will experience additional terrorist attempts or strikes all in the name of Allah. Some of these attacks may occur within the borders of our own nation by the remaining cell groups interspersed and hiding among the Muslim population of the United States. My words may make a number of Muslims in this country and abroad very uncomfortable. To them I would say, 'Deal with it!' The suspicion that you encounter is merely a consequence to your own belief system. ..." Waite's book says. "...Should Islam be immune from attack because it calls itself a religion? If Adolf Hitler called Nazism a religion, would we be speaking German today? Evil is evil, no matter what nomenclature it hides under."

The publisher of the book, HeartSpring Media, withdrew the book from bookstore shelves after they discovered that Waite had plagiarized much of the material and that the supporting blurbs on the back cover of the book from prominent members of the religious community had been fabricated. Waite is also the author "For God & Country: One Chaplain's Perspective of War and the Life Lessons Learned," published in 2005, also by HeartSpring Media.

In addition to relieving Waite of his teaching duties, Morgan, the GTF president, said the school has scrapped its Military Ministries program which Chaplain Waite presided over in an effort to “distance ourselves profoundly from his name and his ideas.”

"It has come to our attention that a "former" member of our faculty, Brian Waite, has written a book which is now withdrawn by the publisher attacking Islam!” says a copy of the email written by Morgan sent to Muslim faculty members. “Please know that we have dismissed him from our faculty and terminated our military ministries program... If anyone enquires of You regarding Brian Waite (a military chaplain serving in Iraq), please assure them that he was appointed to the faculty without our knowledge of his book or his feelings about Islam. Please know that the Foundation as an institution and myself as its President are deeply committed to our Islamic program, faculty, and students."

Neither Waite, who is currently assigned to the U.S. Navy Operational Ministries Center in Norfolk, Virginia, nor a Pentagon spokesman responded to telephone and email queries seeking comment....

....Waite’s resume says he holds two doctorates, a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Georgia's Covington Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in Religious Studies from American Christian College and Seminary in Oklahoma.

But his credentials are a bit misleading since they were obtained through unaccredited institutions.

Indeed, Covington Theological Seminary is just one of the religious institutions that has been identified as a "diploma mill," and has been found to award degrees to students through "correspondence" studies. Covington had received its accreditation status by The International Accrediting Commission for Schools, Colleges and Theological Seminaries (IAC) of Missouri, which was caught up in a federal investigation more than a decade ago for accrediting more than 150 higher learning institutions that failed to meet the most basic standards under the US Department of Education, the Generally Accepted Accrediting Principles, and the Council on Higher Education (CHEA). I am consistently amazed at the amount of disengagement that some people are able to display. Take for instance the great American public who are given every opportunity to engage in the political processes of their nation. But they still have the ability to come up with the most asinine of political opinions and commentaries.

Christian Presidential candidate Barack Obama is a prime example of people not letting the truth get in the way of their own personal fantasies/nightmares.

Barack Obama has on numerous occasions publicly stated that he is a Christian. This public affirmation of his Christian faith has even reached the stage whereby has been vilified over the pronouncements of his former church pastor Jeremiah Wright.

Even after such a public and high profile examination through the media of his religious I have to say with all incredulity that there are still 1 in 10 Americans to this day who believe that Barack Obama is a Muslim:

"A Pew Research Center News Interest Index survey earlier in March found that 79% of the general public had heard rumors that Obama is Muslim, and 38% had heard "a lot" about this. The current survey finds that most voters have no misconceptions about Obama's religious beliefs - 53% say that he is Christian. But one in ten believes Barack Obama is Muslim. Roughly a third (34%) say they don't know what his religious beliefs are, though 9% say the reason they don't know is that they've heard different things about his religion, not that they haven't heard about it.

Notably, the impression that Obama is Muslim crosses party lines: 14% of Republicans, 10% of Democrats and 8% of independents think he is Muslim. Within both parties, ideology is a major factor: 16% of conservative Republicans believe Obama is Muslim, compared with 9% of moderates and liberals. And 13% of conservative and moderate Democrats believe Obama is Muslim, compared with just 5% of liberal Democrats.

The impression that Obama is Muslim varies by education, region, and religious background. Voters who did not attend college are three times as likely to believe Obama is Muslim when compared with voters who have a college degree (15% vs. 5%). And voters in the Midwest and South are about twice as likely as those in the Northeast and West to hold this belief. Nearly one-fifth of voters (19%) in rural areas say Obama is Muslim, as do 16% of white evangelical Protestants.

But there is little difference by age, gender or race in terms of voters' likelihood of thinking Obama is Muslim. Most notably, about as many black (10%) as white (11%) voters believe he is Muslim." (Source: Pew Research Center)

For any who may question why Obama's religion is so important just imagine a Nazi President of the United States during the Second World War.

Many Americans believe that their nation is in a 4th world war against Islam. If any confusion can be created in the minds of the electorate concerning Obama's "Muslim-ness" it is only to the benefit of this political opponents.

For this reason I think there are many who wish to perpetuate the lie that Barack Obama is a Muslim.

Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu in response to the killing of eight Jewish seminary students three weeks ago in Jerusalem has called on the Israeli state to exact a terrible revenge upon the Arabs.

In a Hebrew language pamphlet called "Eretz Yisrael Shelanu" [The Land of Israel Belongs to Us] the Rabbi advocates the hanging of Arab children, the use of extreme violence and collective punishment against the enemies of the state of Israel :

"Safed Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliahu called on the state to use brute force as a deterrent to future terror attacks, following the shooting at the capital's Mercaz Harav Yeshiva three weeks ago that killed eight students.

"A state that really respects the lives of its citizens would have hanged the 10 sons of the terrorist on a tree 50 amot [25 meters] tall, so that others would see it and be afraid," wrote Eliahu....

...Eliahu's comments will appear this weekend in a Hebrew-language pamphlet called "Eretz Yisrael Shelanu" [The Land of Israel Belongs to Us] that is distributed in thousands of synagogues across the nation.

"I am not talking about individuals," stipulated Eliahu. "I am talking about the State of Israel, which needs to make them hurt until they scream, 'Enough!' - until they lie sprawled on the ground groveling, 'Help us!'...

"We have to exact a revenge that is so painful, it will burn into their souls the message of all our enemies that Jewish blood is more valuable than gold and platinum."

Eliahu stressed that the aim of the revenge was solely to achieve deterrence. He added that the Torah's prohibitions against revenge referred solely to individuals, not to states....

...Rabbi Gilad Kariv, legal adviser for the Reform Movement in Israel, said, "Jewish history is full of zealots whose zealotry has brought tragedies upon the nation while bringing about the moral corruption of the Jewish people.

"Unlike deterrence, revenge should be shunned by Israel as a democratic country of law and order and as the state of the Jewish people. It is hoped that the Jewish people, enjoying a renaissance in its land, will have the sense to expel from its midst dangerous extremists like Rabbi Eliahu," he added.

"Rabbi Eliahu's recent comments prove once again that the attorney-general made a big mistake when he decided to rescind an indictment against him for incitement to racism in exchange for a dubious retraction," Kariv said. " (Source: Jerusalem Post)

I have said it before and I will say it again the only way to resolve this problem is to expel all the Arabs and pseudo-Arabs from the Nile to the Euphrates. Only then will their be peace in the Middle East.

The Emirati President Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan recently appointed Kholoud Ahmed Juwan al-Dhahiri as the first female judge to sit on Abu Dhabi's Judiciary Department:

"The Emirati president has appointed the first female judge in this conservative Muslim country....

...Kholoud Ahmed Juwan al-Dhahiri will serve as a primary judge for Abu Dhabi's Judiciary Department, the official news agency WAM reported Wednesday.

Al-Dhahiri told the news agency she hoped to be a role model for Emirati women by performing well in her position in the Emirates' justice system, which is based on Islamic law and tribal rules.

A primary judge handles civil and criminal cases, and al-Dhahiri could judge both in Abu Dhabi — one of seven emirates, or states, making up the UAE — and at the federal level. The news agency did not specify when she would take office....

...Al-Dhahiri has been an Abu Dhabi-based lawyer for eight years, arguing criminal and civil cases in Islamic and civil courts, WAM said." (Source: AFP)

Times are a changing. The Muslim world seems to be in a state of flux.

Japanese retailer Ai Kobayashi has started selling "Islam-inspired" face veils in a effort to combat hay fever:

"A retailer here has started selling Islam-inspired veils aimed at preventing pollen from giving people hay fever.

Ai Kobayashi, the proprietor of the Chikyu-ya store in Shinto, started making and selling the 100 percent silk hoods, inspired by the burqa veils worn by many women in Islamic countries.

"I wanted to have a fashionable approach to fighting off pollen," said Kobayashi, who suffers from hay fever brought about by cedar pollen herself.

...The hoods offer complete protection from pollen if worn together with goggles to cover the eyes. Kobayashi will create hoods for those who bring in their own material, or sells them for 2,940 yen apiece." (Source: Mainichi News)

I wonder if any of the Japanese women wearing these "Islam inspired" masks will be called ninjas in the streets of Japan ?

The only reason I ask is that Muslim women who wear niqabs in the west are often prone to hearing such statements.

I am sure that you are very pleased to hear every 2 seconds that Muslims are taking over the world and imposing our strict 7th century desert lifestyle on all and sundry.

Let me re-enforce this belief for you, by informing you that this domination has reached such a level that we may even have to endure the first ever Muslim Bond girl :

"ZARA ADAMS is auditioning for a part in Quantum of Solace this month – hoping to make a little bit of 007 history.

And in an exclusive interview, she told The Sun: "The casting agent and the producers liked my pictures and other work and have invited me for audition.

"I don't know too much about the part at the moment, but it is a good character role as one of the Bond girls with about 15-20 minutes of screen time....

...Zara knows that while landing the role will be a major breakthrough for a Muslim actress, it will also upset her parents.

The single 25-year-old, who recently launched The Talent Magazine, revealed: "I had a strict upbringing and I didn't even see my first movie until I was at university in Edinburgh, which funnily enough was a Bond film.

"I am getting a lot of support from my friends who are extremely excited about this but my parents aren't really happy about me auditioning for this part."

"But I believe you have to choose your own path in life.

"And if I'm happy, eventually they'll come round to it as they always do."(Source: The Sun)

I assume she wants to be shaken and not stirred if picked for the part.

The Welsh television station S4C is set to air on the 1st April a feature length documentary about T E Lawrence . The film will be presented by Ali Yassine a television presenter and producer of Arab heritage.

In the film Yassine will examine how the British empire used the Bedouins of the Middle East to revolt against the Ottoman Empire. Leading to a carving up of the Middle East between colonial powers Britain and France. Which in turn created the Middle East that we all know today:

"A new documentary film on S4C will examine the role of a Welshman born in the foothills of Snowdon, T E Lawrence, in forming the modern Middle East.

TV presenter and producer Ali Yassine goes on the trail of Lawrence in the revealing programme Lawrence of Arabia. For Ali, 44, the programme meant researching a subject close to his heart. As a Muslim born in Cardiff, with relatives in the Middle East, he’s taken an interest in Lawrence since he was a youngster.

"I was aware that Lawrence played a major role in the Arabs' fight for freedom from the Ottoman Empire – Turkey," Ali explains. “But I wanted to know how much real influence he had."

....It was fashionable to visit the Middle East in the early 20th Century and Lawrence ventured there to work on an archaeological dig in Syria. But with the start of the Great War in 1914, he was recruited by the British to help the Arabs in their fight for freedom.

Lawrence proved a great military strategist. He chose a nomadic Sahara tribe, the Bedouin, to form the heart of his army. Emir Fesail was the main leader and they used mainly guerrilla tactics. This was the start of the Lawrence of Arabia myth.

But while the Arabs thought that Britain and Lawrence were helping them, in reality Britain and France had signed a secret pact to divide the Arab lands between them.

“Lawrence knew about the agreement and felt great shame that he was deceiving the Arabs. He hoped the Arabs would enjoy military success and that this would influence Britain and France and lead to an Arab republic,” says Ali.

But as we all know, this didn’t happen. Arabia was split into a number of small states.

Despite Lawrence’s obvious betrayal, Ali sympathises with him.

"Before starting research on the programme, I didn't have much respect for him as I believed he’d misled the Arabs. But I began to realise he was in a difficult situation as doing his duty for Britain was so important to him. I believe that's why he avoided the public eye after the war. While the British state was setting him up as a hero, he felt guilty." (Source: News Wales)

Those lovable chaps over at the Republican party are at it again. First we had the case of John Deady a state co-chair of the veterans for Rudy organisation caught on tape proclaiming that Rudy Giuliani is the only candidate who can chase the Muslims back into their caves.

Now we have televangelist Rod Parsley a McCain supporter from Ohio who has called for the obliteration of Islam in his written works:

"Senator John McCain hailed as a spiritual adviser an Ohio megachurch pastor who has called upon Christians to wage a "war" against the "false religion" of Islam with the aim of destroying it.

On February 26, McCain appeared at a campaign rally in Cincinnati with the Reverend Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church of Columbus, a supersize Pentecostal institution that features a 5,200-seat sanctuary, a television studio (where Parsley tapes a weekly show), and a 122,000-square-foot Ministry Activity Center. That day, a week before the Ohio primary, Parsley praised the Republican presidential front-runner as a "strong, true, consistent conservative."

....The leader of a 12,000-member congregation, Parsley has written several books outlining his fundamentalist religious outlook, including the 2005 Silent No More. In this work, Parsley decries the "spiritual desperation" of the United States, and he blasts away at the usual suspects: activist judges, civil libertarians who advocate the separation of church and state, the homosexual "culture" ("homosexuals are anything but happy and carefree"), the "abortion industry," and the crass and profane entertainment industry. And Parsley targets another profound threat to the United States: the religion of Islam.

In a chapter titled "Islam: The Deception of Allah," Parsley warns there is a "war between Islam and Christian civilization." He continues:

I cannot tell you how important it is that we understand the true nature of Islam, that we see it for what it really is. In fact, I will tell you this: I do not believe our country can truly fulfill its divine purpose until we understand our historical conflict with Islam. I know that this statement sounds extreme, but I do not shrink from its implications. The fact is that America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion destroyed, and I believe September 11, 2001, was a generational call to arms that we can no longer ignore.

Parsley is not shy about his desire to obliterate Islam. In Silent No More, he notes—approvingly—that Christopher Columbus shared the same goal: "It was to defeat Islam, among other dreams, that Christopher Columbus sailed to the New World in 1492…Columbus dreamed of defeating the armies of Islam with the armies of Europe made mighty by the wealth of the New World. It was this dream that, in part, began America." He urges his readers to realize that a confrontation between Christianity and Islam is unavoidable: "We find now we have no choice. The time has come." And he has bad news: "We may already be losing the battle. As I scan the world, I find that Islam is responsible for more pain, more bloodshed, and more devastation than nearly any other force on earth at this moment."

Parsley claims that Islam is an "anti-Christ religion" predicated on "deception." The Muslim prophet Muhammad, he writes, "received revelations from demons and not from the true God." And he emphasizes this point: "Allah was a demon spirit." Parsley does not differentiate between violent Islamic extremists and other followers of the religion:

There are some, of course, who will say that the violence I cite is the exception and not the rule. I beg to differ. I will counter, respectfully, that what some call "extremists" are instead mainstream believers who are drawing from the well at the very heart of Islam.

The spirit of Islam, he maintains, is one of hostility. He asserts that the religion "inspired" the 9/11 attacks. He bemoans the fact that in the years after 9/11, 34,000 Americans "have become Muslim" and that there are "some 1,209 mosques" in America. Islam, he declares, is a "faith that fully intends to conquer the world" through violence. The United States, he insists, "has historically understood herself as a bastion against Islam," but "history is crashing in upon us."

At the end of his chapter on Islam, Parsley asks, "Are we a Christian nation? I say yes." Without specifying what actions should be taken to eradicate the religion, he essentially calls for a new crusade." (Source: Mother Jones)

To think that McCain tried to garner the support of this chap. I do not know out of the two who is a more despicable human being ?

Churches throughout the Netherlands have decided to side with Muslims and against anti-Islam bigot Geert Wilders. Wilders is famous for wanting to ban the Qur'an in the Netherlands.

In a joint statement with Muslim representatives, the churches called on Wilders not to slander the Prophet of Islam in a forth coming film that he has produced . The statement also made clear that Geert Wilders' views about Islam do not represent those of Christian churches in the Netherlands:

"In a joint statement yesterday, the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN), the Council of Churches in the Netherlands, the Muslims and Government Contact Body (CMO) and the Islam Contact Group (CGI) expressed their "great concern" about the anti-Islam film that Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Wilders wants to bring out.

"Although our freedom of speech allows the publication of this film, we consider such provocation undesirable," the statement said. It is "reprehensible if the sacred (elements) in our religions are ridiculed and our faith offended. We therefore forcefully reject it if the Koran and the Prophet Mohammed are treated with contempt and slandered."

MP Wilders represents a view of "a small part of Dutch society, which is certainly not endorsed by the Dutch churches." The announcement of the film has in the Netherlands "aroused unnecessary conflicts, for which there is no reasonable occasion whatever. Expressions that incite fear for Islam and Muslims work destructively." (Source: NIS News Bulletin)

Is this a case of Christians showing some enlightenment or just another case of stupid dhimmis supporting Eurabia?

The Bosnian Embassy in Moscow has received threatening correspondence from Nazis. The main thrust of the letter seems to be a warning to the embassy that Muslims are not welcome in Russia and the embassy will be attacked some time this year:

"Bosnia-Herzegovina's Embassy in Moscow received a letter with a number of insults and threats to the security of the country's diplomatic mission in the Russian Federation, Bosnia- Herzegovina's Foreign Ministry confirmed Wednesday in Sarajevo. "You Muslim pigs. You are considered as persona non grata on the territory of the Russian Federation," said the letter.

The Bosnian Ambassador to Moscow, Enver Halilovic, informed the ministry and Bosnia's state presidency that the letter also threatened the execution of Bosnian citizens in Russia because of the latest developments in Kosovo, although there is no direct link between Bosnia and the former Serbian province which recently declared independence.

"Your Embassy will be destroyed by the end of 2008," said the letter which finished with "Good luck and hail Hitler." The letter was also said to be marked with the Nazi swastika.

The letter was regularly addressed and contained the name of the sender, which was not revealed." (Source: Earth Times)

Do you not think that it is rather strange that Russian Nazis are threatening violence towards "Islamonazis"? One would have thought that were all one big happy Nazi/fascist family!

Benny Shanon is a professor of cognitive psychology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem . In a new article Benny Shanon claims that Prophet Moses was using psychedelic drugs while on Mount Sinai:

"Moses and the Israelites were on drugs, says Benny Shanon, an Israeli professor of cognitive philosophy.

Writing in the British Journal Time and Mind, he claims Moses was probably on psychedelic drugs when he received the Ten Commandments from God.

According to Shanon, a professor at Hebrew University, two naturally existing plants in the Sinai Peninsula have the same psychoactive components as ones found in the Amazon jungle and are well-known for their mind-altering capabilities. The drugs are usually combined in a drink called ayahuasca.

"As far as Moses on Mount Sinai is concerned, it was either a supernatural cosmic event, which I don't believe, or a legend, which I don't believe either, or finally, and this is very probable, an event that joined Moses and the people of Israel under the effects of narcotics," he told Israel Radio in an interview Tuesday.

The description in The Book of Exodus of thunder, lightening and a blaring trumpet, according to Shanon, are the classic imaginings of people under the influence of drugs.

As for the vision of the burning bush, well obviously that too was a drug-fueled hallucination, according to Shanon.

"In advanced forms of ayahuasca inebriation," he wrote, "the seeing of light is accompanied by profound religious and spiritual feelings." (Source: ABC News)

One could never imagine a Muslim making such statements about Prophet Moses even if he was an "esteemed" professor at a university.

The Australian academic institution Griffith University has produced research revealing that a majority of Queenslanders are strongly supportive of Muslim citizens of Australia.

The poll conducted by the Griffith University Islamic Research Unit also shows that in general Queenslanders believe that the Australian media representation of Islam is negative.

The unit's research formed part of a three day summit entitled "Challenges And Opportunities For Islam And The West":

"Almost 80 per cent of Queenslanders are comfortable with Muslims being part of Australian society, according to research delivered to a conference in Brisbane this week.

National and international experts, community leaders and decision makers attended the three-day Challenges and Opportunities for Islam and the West summit.

One of the main discussion points was a report examining the impact of the media's representation of Islam and attitudes towards Muslims in Queensland, prepared by the Griffith University Islamic Research Unit.

A survey of 500 people last year found the majority of people in Queensland were generally accepting of Muslims, and almost half did not consider them any different from others seeking to live in Australia.

And more than two-thirds of respondents did not accept the notion of an "Islamic threat" - at least when it comes to Australian Muslims....

...In general, most Queenslanders feel the media's representation of Islam was negative, biased and unfair. Only a small percentage believed the media portrayed Muslims in a neutral manner.

The report's authors found the greater knowledge people had about Islam and Muslims, the less fear they felt." (Source: Brisbane Times)

Polls such as this show that there is still some hope for the future.

An Israeli settler killed a Muslim youth aged 17 earlier today . The incident took place in the West Bank after the settler said he feared for his life:

"A 30-year-old resident of the settlement of Neriya shot a 17-year-old Palestinian to death Monday near the West Bank settlement of Talmon. According to the settler, he had encountered rioting Palestinians and was afraid they would lynch him.

An initial IDF inquiry into the shooting incident revealed that the settler's actions were warranted. The inquiry is led by Colonel Amir Abulafia, commander of the Binyamin Brigade....

...The incident took place as Palestinians rioted and hurled stones near the community in protest of the IDF operation in the Gaza Strip.

Police forces dispatched to the area questioned the settler, who told them that while he walking in the area he spotted a veiled man. He shouted at him, and the Palestinian escaped. As he continued walking, he saw dozens of Palestinians hurling stones.

According to the shooter, he used his personal gun to fire warning shots in the air. As he saw the Palestinians approaching him, he shot at their legs.

The Palestinians claimed that they were fired on from the community of Neriya while standing next to the fence. According to the Maan news agency, the teen killed was identified as Muhammad Salah Shraiteh....

...According to the Palestinians, soldiers and settlers opened fire at the residents protesting the IDF's operation in Gaza. Palestinian medical sources said that the young man was shot in the head by IDF soldiers." (Source: Ynet News)

News reports such as this only increase me in my personal conviction that the only way to end violence in the middle east is for the establishment of a greater Israel. Once such a state is established and all the Muslims are removed from the area peace will be able to flourish in the Middle East.

The long awaited launch of the BBC's Arabic television station is nearly over as the corporation sets 11th March 2008 as its launch date.

Initially the station will broadcast a combination of news and current affairs programming for 12 hours daily and moving upto 24 hours later on the year:

"The British Broadcasting Corporation's new Arabic-language cable and satellite television channel will launch next week, bosses said Monday, laying down the gauntlet to existing pan-Arab stations.

BBC Arabic Television will go live at 1000 GMT on Tuesday March 11, initially broadcasting for 12 hours a day before becoming a 24-hour operation later this year.

It is the BBC's first publicly-funded international television service and comes 11 years after a previous foray into the Middle East television market ended in failure after editorial disagreements with its Saudi backers.

The venture -- initially costing 19 million pounds (24.8 million euros, 37.7 million dollars) and 25 million pounds when it becomes round-the-clock -- aims to provide the Middle East's only "tri-media" (TV, radio and online) service...

...BBC Arabic Television, which aims to build on the existing BBC Arabic radio and Internet services, will be free-to-air for anyone with a satellite or cable connection in north Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf.

The director of BBC World Service, Nigel Chapman, said they were boosting coverage in the Middle East because satellite news channels had changed the media landscape there over the last decade.

"There is no doubt that television is now the dominant medium for consuming news in the region," he added.

"Without a BBC news presence in Arabic on television, we run the risk of always being second to other television sources, despite the quality of our radio and new media offers."

Chapman told reporters they hoped to attract 20 million viewers per week by 2010 and 35 million users per week for all three services." (Source: AFP)

How many in the Middle East will just see this as another attempt by a western government backed organisation to disseminate propaganda in the region ?

The Arabic speaking world has already seen the debacle that became the American back Al-Hurra. television station. Lets hope the British and the BBC do not make the same mistakes as the Americans.
