In the latest example of westerners targeting law abiding Muslims the M.S.A at the University of Miami was targeted by tolerant westerners leaving feces at the door of its meeting room:

"On Nov. 6, members of the Muslim Student Association came to their usual meeting place, building 21-Q in the Apartment Area, and found it desecrated. Someone had left feces on the front steps of the student's place of meeting and prayer.

"We are considering this a hate crime because there are bathrooms around the area," said Omar Howeedy, vice president of the Muslim Students Association. "I don't think anyone would want to do that with a good intent."

The students removed the feces from their meeting place immediately because "we always keep it clean out of respect," Howeedy said. Though the students did not file a police report, they met last week with Officer John Tighe of the Coral Gables Police Department to discuss the case.

"He told us that with the evidence gone there was nothing he could do," said Moiez Tapia, adviser to MUSA.

Although the police may not be able to investigate this particular event, the MUSA executive board plans to e-mail President Donna E. Shalala detailing the event. Their goal in sending the e-mail is to raise awareness on campus that intolerance is still alive and among us.

Dean of Students Ricardo Hall said that if any individual is found guilty, he or she may be suspended or expelled.

"My office and I take these types of incidents very seriously," Hall said. "It is disrespectful, disgusting and uncalled for in a college campus and anywhere else."

Howeedy said he thinks the incident may have occurred as a result of the recent Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, which began Oct. 22." (Source: The Miami Hurricane)

A proposed Islamic school at a site on the outskirts of Sydney is causing anger with the local non-Muslim population.

As a way of passing on the message of disgust to the Muslim community two pig's heads were placed on spikes and then stuck into the ground at the proposed site:

"Two pigs' heads were found at the site of a proposed Islamic school on Sydney's outskirts Wednesday, the school's backers said.

An Australian flag was draped between the two heads, said Jeremy Bingham, spokesman for the Quranic Society.

"Someone has put a couple of stakes in the ground with a pig's head on the top of each stake and an Australian flag inside," Bingham told AFP.

"The police are treating it as a crime scene and making investigations."

Earlier this month about 1,000 people attended a meeting to protest against the proposed school in Camden, in Sydney's far southwest, while a cross was previously found on the grounds....

...Police said while they supported peaceful protest they would investigate and prosecute any "unlawful and obscene acts".

The state government's Community Relations Commission condemned the latest protest as "a mindless act".

"This insult and display of hatred is not something any fair-minded Australian would approve of," said commission head Stepan Kerkyasharian in a statement.

Muslim leaders condemned the incident, not the first in Sydney.

"It's just quite sad really, we don't need this rubbish in Australia," Australian Federation of Islamic Councils spokesman Haset Sali said.

In 2005 anti-Muslim sentiment boiled over into ugly riots on the Sydney beach of Cronulla, where rioters targeted people of Middle Eastern appearance.

And in 2004, a severed pig's head was similarly impaled in front of a Muslim prayer centre under construction in Sydney's northwest." (Source: AFP)

The spate of Israeli soldiers caught with their hands in someone else's pockets is increasing. First we had the alleged case of an Israeli solider stealing money and gold from a Palestinian women and now we have the case of an Israeli soldier charged with stealing money from a Palestinian car:

"Soldier charged with looting – an offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment - for pocketing bill found during search of Palestinian car at West Bank checkpoint. Defense attorney says soldier used stolen money to pay off family debts.

Military Police officials have confirmed the arrest of a soldier from the Givati Brigade after the latter confessed to stealing a 200 shekel bill ($50) from a Palestinian vehicle after searching it as it passed through an Israeli checkpoint near the West Bank city of Nablus several weeks ago.

A military policewoman who was also manning the checkpoint spotted him pocketing the money but apparently chose not to report it. Several days after the incident occurred the soldier approached his commanders and confessed to the crime.

Because the nature of the transgression had involved an offense against Palestinian civilians, the military launched a criminal investigation into the matter and took the soldier into custody last week.

The Southern Command's military court extended the soldier's remand until Wednesday – when military prosecutors are scheduled to file an indictment against him....

...The accused reportedly told his comrades that he felt betrayed and that despite the severity of his actions does not deserve to be treated like a criminal." (Source: Ynet News)

The statement by the soldier I think says it all, why should he be treated like a criminal if he stole 200 Shekels ? I am sure if a Muslim had stolen 200 Shekels from him he would be asking for the same understanding and compassion for the Muslim thief as he is doing for himself.

Eurabia is a pejorative term used by anti-Islam bigots to describe the subjugation of the European continent by its Muslim citizens.

I have written other posts about this subject in the past, they can be accessed by clicking on the following links:

The latest news coming out from Belgium is that its third largest city has banned Muslim employees from wearing hijabs, once again putting another nail into the coffin that has become the "Eurabia" construct:

"BELGIUM'S third largest city Ghent has banned its employees from wearing Muslim headscarves and other religious or political symbols.

All city personnel, such as librarians and child care workers, will not be allowed to wear such garments or symbols if they come into contact with the public, a city spokesman said.

Similar measures have been imposed in other European countries like France, where there are growing numbers of Muslim immigrants.

The measures are controversial. Supporters say they help Muslim immigrant women better integrate in their host countries, while opponents say they are discriminatory." (Source: Herald Sun)

So much for Europe being under the jackboots of the Islamofascist barbarians!

Israeli soldiers conducting a raid in the district of Judea and Samaria have been caught trying to steal thousands of dollars worth of gold and money from a Muslim women:

"While searching a Palestinian woman's house in the northern West Bank village of Silat Ad-Daher, soldiers stole property but returned it when the woman complained to their officer. The woman, Ibtisam Rahal, claims that the soldiers also "swiped" an additional amount of money from her son's room....

...One morning towards the end of October, an IDF force entered Rahal's house in Silat Ad-Daher, following standard protocol by gathering her family members in one room and conducting a search of the premises. "The soldiers grabbed my son Iyad and I yelled at them to let him go," Rahal said to Ynet. "When they yelled back that I should keep quiet, I noticed that some of the soldiers had entered my bedroom. I asked them to let met go in as well to take out my money and gold jewelry."

According to Rahal, the soldiers told her they were searching for weapons and not money or jewelry. She asked them three times for permission to enter the room, but they refused each time. "From the living room I saw one of the soldiers leave my bedroom holding a bag I keep my money in. My daughter and sister-in-law also saw the soldier with my bag."

At this point, Rahal began screaming and demanding her money. "The soldiers replied that they weren't thieves and one of them even tried to gag me," she said.

When Rahal asked to speak with the officer in charge, one of the soldiers removed his mask and inquired as to her problem. "I told him what I had seen and he left the house for the jeep and came back with the bag containing the entire sum, around 3,000 Jordanian Dinars (over $4,500 US) and a gold necklace."

Rahal was pleased to see the amount returned, but, as she tells it, she did not see the soldiers enter the room belonging to her married son Iyad who also resides in the house. She told Ynet that the soldiers "swiped" 2,500 Dinars (about $3,500 US) from his room and took her son to be questioned. According to Rahal, it was only luck that the soldiers missed his wife's gold jewelry, hidden in another bag." (Source: Ynet News)

As far as I can see there are only two possible explanations to this story the first being that the Muslim women is a liar and the second well on second thoughts there is no second reason.

Update: Mitt Romney disputes Mansour Ijaz's op-ed piece in the Christian Science Monitor about him not wanting to take Muslims in to any future Cabinet:

"Romney disputed Ijaz's account of the conversation on Tuesday.

"That's not ... his question was, 'Did I need to have a Muslim in my Cabinet to be able to confront radical jihad and would it be important to have a Muslim in my Cabinet?' And I said, 'No, I don’t think that you have to have a Muslim in the Cabinet to be able to, to take on radical jihad any more than in the second World War where you needed to have a Japanese American to help us understand the threat that was coming from Japan," Romney said. "I just rejected that argument."

He said he would consider people of any faith, but that they would be selected based on merit.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom later pointed out that Ijaz is a Democratic Party fundraiser, and said he carries a partisan political agenda. Ijaz has contributed to Bill Clinton, John Kerry and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. He also contributed to Hillary Clinton eight years ago." (Source: Fox News)

Who is telling the truth ? I will let you decide.

As some one who comes from a religious minority himself I would have thought that Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney would have better understood the need for a more inclusive society where people are not judged by the colour of their skin or religion.

Alas Mitt Romney does not see things as I do and in his latest pandering to the base instincts of anti-Islam bigots he has ruled that if he is elected to the Presidency of the U.S.A he will not allow a Muslim to enter into his cabinet:

"According to an op-ed by Mansour Ijaz in the Christian Science Monitor:

I asked Mr. Romney whether he would consider including qualified Americans of the Islamic faith in his cabinet as advisers on national security matters, given his position that "jihadism" is the principal foreign policy threat facing America today. He answered, "…based on the numbers of American Muslims [as a percentage] in our population, I cannot see that a cabinet position would be justified. But of course, I would imagine that Muslims could serve at lower levels of my administration."

Notice the language. Romney can't even say a simple "yes" about having Muslims serve at lower levels of the government. No, he would imagine. Thanks. Keep imagining. And from when did we start deciding cabinet appointments based on the size of the ethnic or religious group the potential appointee comes from?" (Source: Democracy Arsenal)

Out of curiosity how many Mormons are there in America ? The answer is 5.5 million, hardly a large minority so will Mitt Romney be excluding himself from running for President? Surely the percentage of Mormons in America does not justify a Mormon President.

Jack Rosen, chairman of the American Jewish Congress's Council for World Jewry has travelled half away around the world to pay homage to Pakistani leader General Pervez Musharraf:

"With the blessing of Washington, Jack Rosen, chairman of the American Jewish Congress's Council for World Jewry, traveled halfway across the globe for a face-to-face meeting with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, who he had hailed two years ago as a courageous leader and driving force in Jewish-Muslim dialogue.

In recent weeks Musharraf has been roundly criticized for declaring emergency rule and cracking down on his opposition, in particular the judiciary. The de facto declaration of martial law has been widely viewed as an effort to preempt a ruling from the Supreme Court that would have invalidated Musharraf's reelection as president last month.

"The real choice we face is not between Musharraf and a return to an effective democratic system, but between Musharraf and the possible collapse of Pakistan," Rosen wrote in a letter to the editor appearing in this week's edition of the Jewish Daily Forward. Rosen made the trip to Islamabad after consulting with the State Department and key members of Congress." (Source: Haaretz)

So much for harping on about supporting democracy in the Muslim world !

Orthodox Rabbi Marc Schneier has been awarded any honour by the Muslim community in New York for his work in bringing about understanding between Jews and Muslims:

"The Islamic Center of Long Island (ICLI), considered one of the largest leading Muslim centers among the U.S. Muslim community, awarded a special honor to Orthodox Rabbi Marc Schneier on Sunday.

400 Muslim religious leaders and businessman took part in the center's annual dinner Sunday. Those in attendance welcomed Schneier with much applause as the heads of the ICLI bestowed the special award upon the rabbi.

The award was in recognition of Scheier's initiative for a unique multi-cultural symposium involving rabbis and imams held recently in New York....

...In his acceptance speech, Schneier referred to the imminent Middle East peace conference to be held shortly in Annapolis, Maryland, saying that the "problem with the conference is the absence of a senior religious figure who would represent both the Jewish and Muslim faiths."

"Religion is a powerful factor in the Middle East" Schneier said, and added that without the participation of Jewish and Muslim religious leaders, the peace process will likely fail. " (Source: Haaretz)

Is this Rabbi a fool? Does he not realise the Muslims are secretly plotting behind his back global domination and Judaeo-Christian Armageddon?

A group of Christian leaders are asking Muslims to forgive them for Christian crimes committed against the Muslim world both from the past and in the present.

This latest initiative by Christian leaders from both the west and the east is in response to a call from Islamic scholars for understanding between Christendom and the Islamic world:

"As members of the worldwide Christian community, we were deeply encouraged and challenged by the recent historic open letter signed by 138 leading Muslim scholars, clerics, and intellectuals from around the world. A Common Word Between Us and You identifies some core common ground between Christianity and Islam which lies at the heart of our respective faiths as well as at the heart of the most ancient Abrahamic faith, Judaism. Jesus Christ's call to love God and neighbour was rooted in the divine revelation to the people of Israel embodied in the Torah (Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:18). We receive the open letter as a Muslim hand of conviviality and cooperation extended to Christians worldwide. In this response we extend our own Christian hand in return, so that together with all other human beings we may live in peace and justice as we seek to love God and our neighbours.

Muslims and Christians have not always shaken hands in friendship; their relations have sometimes been tense, even characterized by outright hostility. Since Jesus Christ says, "First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbour’s eye" (Matthew 7:5), we want to begin by acknowledging that in the past (e.g. in the Crusades) and in the present (e.g. in excesses of the "war on terror") many Christians have been guilty of sinning against our Muslim neighbours. Before we “shake your hand” in responding to your letter, we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world....

Rowan Williams is the Archbishop of Canterbury and is regarded as the world wide head of the Anglican communion.

In his latest interview given to the Muslim lifestyle magazine Emel Rowan Williams attacks America under George W. Bush for its foreign policy. He even goes even further and characterizes America as an imperial colonising power worse than the British at the height of their colonial empire:

"In an interview with a British Muslim publication, Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, a longstanding opponent of the Iraq war, has taken his criticism of U.S. foreign policy to a new level.

The U.S. has lost the moral high ground since 9/11, he told Emel, a Muslim "lifestyle" magazine edited by a former Catholic convert to Islam. As a result, he said, it should launch a "generous and intelligent program of aid directed to the societies that have been ravaged; a check on the economic exploitation of defeated territories; a demilitarization of their presence."

Williams called the U.S. the world's only "global hegemonic power," and suggested that its policies in Iraq were worse than British colonialism.

"It is one thing to take over a territory and then pour energy and resources into administering it and normalizing it. Rightly or wrongly, that's what the British Empire did -- in India, for example," he was quoted as saying.

"It is another thing to go in on the assumption that a quick burst of violent action will somehow clear the decks and that you can move on and other people will put it back together -- Iraq, for example."

Williams also attacked Christian Zionism -- active support for Israel based on the belief that its re-establishment in 1948 was in line with biblical prophecy.

The archbishop said he found Christian Zionists' views "very strange, and not at all easy to accept."

Williams said they were connected to "the chosen-nation myth of America, meaning that what happens in America is very much at the heart of God's purpose for humanity." (Source: Cross Walk)

Let us try to forgive Rowan Williams for his unjustifiable comments as it looks like he does not know yet that western Christian civilisation is in the last death throws of a war with Islamofascist barbarians and that America and George W. Bush are the last hope for the free world. May the Lord forgive him for his ignorance.

The President of the United States of America George W. Bush has signed a bill for the creation of an United States stamp celebrating the Muslim religious festival of Eid-Al-Adha which this year falls around Christmas Eve time:

"President George Bush Jr. has signed a bill for the creation of a United States Stamp Honoring the Muslim religion and it will be released nationwide on December 24th, 2007.

The U.S. Postal Service issued its Eid stamp commemorating the Muslim holidays Eid al-Fitr (marking the end of Ramadan) and Eid al-Adha (marking the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca) on September 1, 2001 as part of its multicultural Holiday Celebrations series

The 911 terrorists were all Muslims and it's such a disgrace our president glorifies a religion that believes all Jews and non-Muslim believers be killed. There is a Muslim sword through the 37-cents mark on the stamp, because the Muslims do not recognize the unholy money of America and the only way they would allow a stamp honoring their religion is to put a Muslim sword through the US monitory symbol the 37-cents marking. This is just another example of the corruption in our government." (Source: News Blaze)

I am not sure where the author to this piece gets that humbug from that "Muslims do not recognise the unholy money of America".

If one were to take even a cursory look around the Muslim world one would see that it is full of U.S. Dollars so I do not know what the author is ranting on about. Maybe the authore is subconsciously thinking that why let facts get in the way of a person's prejudices and a good rant about Islamofascists?

Anyway for those that are celebrating Eid Al-Adha let me give you my heart felt best wishes.

I recently commented for the first time on Israpundit a weblog that I visit regularly. The topic being discussed was the argument between those that view that a reformation of Islam is possible versus those that believe that no reformation is possible and that Islam must be eradicated.

I shall reproduce here the conversation that I had over at Israpundit for the benefit of my readers.

By the way I am using the nick k_nomad:
  • In my opinion Islam can never be reformed (what is meant by reform anyway?) or changed
The truth about Islam and Muhammad must understood, internalized and taught to the masses if we are to survive as a civilization.
I make the above statement knowing that the greatest number of victims of Islam have been and continue to be Muslims themselves.
    Jeff
  • Jeff so would you advocate mass annihilation of Muslims in order to save western civilisation ?
By the way there is a Dutch television expose of Ayaan Hirsi Ali on Youtube. Comment by k_nomad

  • Mr. k_nomad,
Don’t put words in my mouth.
I am not one for the straw-man argument.
    Read what I wrote.
As I stated above and as you may or may not know, the greatest number of Islam’s victims are Muslims themselves.
According to the Qur’an a Muslim can either be pious (follow the Qur’an and Sunnah and aspire to be a disciple of Muhammad) or a hypocrite (not follow the Qur’an, Sunnah and aspire to be a disciple of Muhammad). Pious Muslims are jihadists and terrorists. Peaceful Muslims are hypocrites.
Only by knowing the unvarnished truth about Islam and Muhammad can Muslims escape from the yoke of Islam.
Bombs and bullets alone will never defeat the global jihad being waged against dar al Harb (the house of war, i.e. the infidel nations).Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the websites listed below in order to begin learning about:
    Islam, Jihad and Dhimmitude:
    www.jihadwatch.org
    www.andrewbostom.org
    www.prophetofdoom.net
    www.religionofpeace.com
    www.faithfreedom.org
    www.islamanazi.com
    Jeff

  • Jeff I am not in any way putting words in your mouth. I asked a question which I noticed you quite conveniently did not answer in your reply.
As for your intricate knowledge of Islam do you not think that your representation is rather stark ? There seems to be no room to a Muslim without being a terrorist. As a Muslim what would you suggest I do to remove the yoke of Islam from my neck ? Comment by k_nomad

  • k_nomad, why don’t you get lost, your kind is not wanted here. I have nothing but hatred for the likes of you. Ayaan Hirsi Ali exposes to the world the unvarnished truth about the horrors of islam, so you wish to silence her voice. BTW the mass extermination of muslims would be a perfectly justifiable response to the global jihad and for the sake of saving the world from this deadly disease. muslims have waged war on us, and we have every right to fight back. islamic “men” are the lowest form of life in the universe, they are sub-human genetic mutations. islam is the religion of rape and murder. In the words of Winston Churchill: Islam is as dangerous in a man as rabies in a dog. That is when the west had real leaders who were not afraid to speak the truth. Now we have cowardly leaders who pretend islam is something that it’s most definitely not, “a religion of peace”.

BTW, why do we suddenly have this influx of muslims here? This is the second one today.

  • K_Nomad,
After reading my initial post above (#1), why did you ask me the question you did in post #2?
I have never advocated for or supported the annihilation of Muslims.
I do not behave like Muhammad did, nor as jihadists or pious Muslims do.
I would like to ask you, Mr. Nomad, if you are a peaceful Muslim (regarded as a “hypocrite” in the Qur’an)?
If you are a peaceful Muslim, perhaps you should read this:

    http://prophetofdoom.net/Islamic_Quotes_Peaceful_Muslims.Islam

If you are not a peaceful Muslim or a ‘hypocrite’ according to the Qur’an and Sunnah, are you a pious Muslim?
Do you adhere to Qur’anic principles and follow Islamic scripture?
Do you view Muhammad as the “perfect man?”

Only by knowing the truth about Muhammad, the history and legacy of jihad, Islamic imperialism, Islamic antisemitism/christophobia and the institution of dhimmitude, will you be able to shed the yolk of Islam.
Allah is not the same Elohim (Most Mighty One, sometimes referred to as The Almighty or God) as the Elohim of Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya’acov. Allah is Satan and Muhammad was a demon.

    Jeff

  • O.K. Let me try to answer Laura first then Jeff.

Laura said :k_nomad, why don’t you get lost, your kind is not wanted here

Thats funny Laura because if you look carefully I am listed on the blogroll at Israpundit.

Laura said:I have nothing but hatred for the likes of you

I am happy that you hate me please feel free to do so, you will hear no complaint from me.

Laura said: Ayaan Hirsi Ali exposes to the world the unvarnished truth about the horrors of islam, so you wish to silence her voice.

I do not want to silence her as far as I am concerned she can say and do whatever she likes. In fact if you go to my blog so can see a copy of Submission the film she made with Theo Van Gough. Hardly the act of person trying to silence her message.

  • Laura: the mass extermination of muslims would be a perfectly justifiable response to the global jihad and for the sake of saving the world from this deadly disease

Oh dear Laura its not very lady like to advocate mass murder of innocents even if they are brown skinned smelly camel jockeys.

Laura: islamic “men” are the lowest form of life in the universe, they are sub-human genetic mutations

Please let all your pent up venom out. Use this as some type of cathartic process after all I am personally responsible for all the ills of the world.

Laura said: In the words of Winston Churchill: Islam is as dangerous in a man as rabies in a dog. That is when the west had real leaders who were not afraid to speak the truth.

Winston Churchill a charming fellow indeed. Since you are partial to quoting him about Muslims I wonder what he had to say about “Hebrews”?

    Now onto Jeff….

Jeff said : I would like to ask you, Mr. Nomad, if you are a peaceful Muslim (regarded as a “hypocrite” in the Qur’an)
If you are not a peaceful Muslim or a ‘hypocrite’ according to the Qur’an and Sunnah, are you a pious Muslim?
Do you adhere to Qur’anic principles and follow Islamic scripture?
Do you view Muhammad as the “perfect man?”

Yes Jeff I am a peaceful Muslim. Yes I try my best to be a pious Muslim. Yes I do follow Quranic principles and follow Islamic scripture. Yes I do view Mohammad as the perfect man. Having said that I think that your interpretation of the Qur’an and Islamic scripture is different to mine. You read the Quran and see incitement to hate, murder and rape while I read the same Qur’an and dont see those things. I think that says more about you than me.

Jeff said : Allah is not the same Elohim (Most Mighty One, sometimes referred to as The Almighty or God) as the Elohim of Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya’acov. Allah is Satan and Muhammad was a demon.

Your hatred for Allah is you own choice but seems to be rather misplaced as according to Halachic authorities Muslims worship the one-and-only G-d who they call Allah.

So I am confused now , do I follow your statement that Allah is Satan or do I follow Jewish Halachic authorities who say that Allah is the one-and-only G-d, Elohim?

Aharon Barak the former president of the Israeli Supreme Court has been making offensive statements to all freedom loving people around the world. According to Aharon Barak the United States is violator of the human rights.

In a speech he gave to Natanya College Aharon Barak attacked the United States record on human rights and said Israel was better at protecting human rights than "the land of the free and the brave" :

"Former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak slammed the state of human rights in the United States Saturday, calling it 'appalling' and saying the Israeli High Court is doing a far better job of upholding rights laws.

Speaking at a forum on law at the Natanya College Barak said: "The Americans were caught with their pants down after 9/11... They are committing unspeakable acts and that kind of human rights violations could cost them dearly.

"Our High Court is ready to defend human rights in times of war as well as in times of peace." (Source: Ynet News)

These are really sad developments from Australia where the incumbent Prime Minister John Howard has lost to his Labor rival Kevin Rudd.

John Howard a long time supporter of the neo-conservative agenda for the Muslim world finally fell foul of the Australian people's demands on climate change and their opposition to the Iraq war:

"Australian Prime Minister John Howard has admitted defeat in the country's general election, and looks set to lose his parliamentary seat...

...Amid cheers from Liberal Party faithful, Mr Howard said it had been a privilege to have served as prime minister since 1996.

"We've bequeathed to [Mr Rudd] a nation that is stronger and prouder and more prosperous than it was 11 and a half years ago," he said.

Mr Howard, who had been bidding for a fifth term in office, conceded the national election and accepted it was "very likely" he would also be defeated in his Bennelong constituency.

If unseated, the 68-year-old would be only the second prime minister in Australia's history to suffer such a fate.

Voters in Bennelong had elected Mr Howard in 13 consecutive elections over 33 years.

But with more than 50% of the votes counted in the constituency, figures from the electoral commission suggested he had lost the seat to Maxine McKew, a former TV journalist.

An exit poll conducted by Sky News and Channel 7 suggested a similar result....

...The BBC's Nick Bryant, in Sydney, said Labor had swept back into power by harnessing an anti-government backlash.

Mr Howard had found himself on the wrong side of public opinion on the Kyoto protocol and the war in Iraq, our correspondent said." (Source: BBC News)

A very sad day for all those in this world who love freedom and democracy.
