This short Spanish film deals with the topic of the Hijab in European schools. The film highlights the dilemma that many Muslim females face in secular education systems such as those in some European countries and Turkey.

Is it right to expect one to forsake her religion in order to gain an education?

Muslims For A Greater Israel
For those of you that have read this weblog before will be familiar with my stance regarding Greater Israel. The concept of Greater Israel is connected to a Biblical claim that God bequeathed for all eternity land in the Middle East to His chosen people. More information about this topic can be accessed by clicking the following link:

Greater Israel A Solution To The Problems Of The Middle East

As far as I can see Muslims have not advanced human knowledge or civilization in the least. We have not contributed to science, literature or to any other field of intellectual endeavor. Rather we are the "scum of the earth". We just use up the earth's resources without any benefit to our fellow man.

This brings me onto today's post. Muslims have not been able to benefit the Middle East in anyway whatsoever. As such I believe that Muslims must decide to emigrate from that region or be removed by force. The whole area from the Nile to the Euphrates should be evacuated of Muslims. In doing so not only will be Middle East problem be solved instantaneously but also the land will go to its rightful Biblical owners.

Should their be a new cry in the Muslim world supporting the establishment of a Greater Israel?

Islam Polls YouGov

The blogsphere has been a buzz over a recent YouGov poll that was published in the British Daily Telegraph. Many of those who are highlighting this piece of news are American.

The poll asked the following question to a selection of the British public in relation to Islam:

Do you feel threatened by Islam as distinct from fundamentalist Islamists ?

53% agreed that they feel threatened by Islam in general.

Taking into consideration the state of current affairs I am not surprised by this result. However I believe that this latest poll has become one more stick that some of us will use to hit over the head of any Muslim.

I find it particularly surprising that American bloggers use the YouGov poll to add weight to the argument that Islam is by its very nature evil or a threat to the west. I wonder if those same American bloggers would support the conclusions of YouGov and the British public when America is the subject of the poll rather than Islam?

Just by luck YouGov published a poll on the 4th July 2006. In this poll a sample of the British public was questioned regarding their attitudes towards the United States of America.

I have for your benefit reproduced some of the questions and the percentage answer:

(Q) How would you describe the way you feel about the US? On balance, are your feelings about the US...?

(A) Fairly negative.... 30%

(Q) Taking everything into account, do you think the policies and actions of the present American government make the world...?

(A) A somewhat worse place to live in...... 42%

(Q) Again taking everything into account, do you think American culture - fast-food restaurants, popular music, Hollywood movies and so on - makes the world..?

(A) A somewhat worse place to live in ....40%

(Q)How much confidence do you have in the ability of the United States to deal wisely with present world problems?

(A) Little confidence ...39%

(Q) The United States is sometimes described as "a beacon of hope for the world". Do you regard the US at the moment as a "beacon of hope for the world" or not?

(A) No, I dont .....77%

As far as I can remember when YouGov published this poll the blogsphere was not a buzz with the results. This has not been case with the poll that dealt with the topic of Islam I wonder why that is ?

Islam Channel

For those interested in a view of current events other than Fox News/CNN/BBC than today's post will be of particular interest.

The Islam Channel is broadcast from studios in the United Kingdom to Britain via Rupert Mudorch's Sky satellite system and to the world via the internet.

The programs and views that are broadcast over the channel are from "a" Muslim perspective meaning that Muslims do not all hold identical opinions.

If you are interested in seeing one of the many Muslim perspectives regarding the world around us then the Islam Channel is a good place to start.

Monarch Airlines Muslims Malaga
As someone who is a Muslim and flies quite regularly I found the following story in today's British newspaper The Sunday Mail very "interesting."

The story concerns a flight that was due to fly from Malaga, Spain to the northern English town of Manchester last Wednesday. While passengers where waiting to board the aeroplane they noticed two "suspicious" fellow travelers. The suspicious pair among other things wore jumpers, jackets and were checking their watches regularly. However the most suspicious of all their actions was that they spoke a language that may have been Arabic. All of this in the current the climate was enough for the rest of the travelers. Some refused to board the plane and others who were already on disembarked and refused to return until the two had been removed from the flight.

"Initially, six passengers refused to board the flight. On board the aircraft, word reached one family. To the astonishment of cabin crew, they stood up and walked off, followed quickly by others.

The Monarch pilot - a highly experienced captain - accompanied by armed Civil Guard police and airport security staff, approached the two men and took their passports.

Half an hour later, police returned and escorted the two Asian passengers off the jet."

The airline then put the Asian passengers in a hotel for the night and they were flown back to the United Kingdom on a later flight without incident.

This latest account comes after reports that two British women on another flight from Spain complained about having to fly on a plane with a "bearded" man.

While I understand the qualms that many have about flying with a Muslim I think the latest episode shows that the level of "concern" that some have regarding the issue has gone from being useful to being detrimental.

It appears that all you need nowadays is a Middle Eastern appearance and speak an Arabic sounding language in order to be a threat to the whole of air transport system of the western world. I believe that actions such as taking people off flights or allowing them on is best left in the hands of the authorities.

Hisham Kabbani George W. Bush
According to many in today's world the only attributes that one needs to look for when trying to identify a terrorist are the following:

(i) The subject be a Muslim.
(ii) The subject wear a turban.
(iii) The subject have a beard.

Once these three points have been observed in a person the label of "terrorist" can be applied without fear. Also once the dubious title of terrorist is given to the subject any person that meets him willingly can be labeled a supporter of terrorists and terrorism.

Which brings me nicely to today's post. The image above is a photograph taken between George W. Bush the current President of the United States and Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani a Muslim scholar originally from Lebanon but who resides in the United States.

Now if we were to apply the three rules established at the start of this post to identify a terrorist then Sheikh Kabbani would pass the test with "flying colors".

As can be seen from the picture Mr.Kabbani is a obviously a Muslim with a name like Muhammad what else would you expect?

He most definitely wears a turban.

He sports a very long white beard.

According to the rules he is a bone fide "terrorist".

If this reasoning is accepted as many do we come up against a fundamental problem which is the following:

If Mr.Kabbani is a "terrorist" by our established criterion and its logic then obviously the person next to him in the picture with Mr.Kabbani's arm on his shoulder is his supporter and therefore a supporter of a "terrorist". Can any other conclusion be made?

I leave you with that thought.

The West Islam Tolerance Love
I came across an interesting article on the website of the North Country Gazette. Entitled "Inside the first amendment Islam is not the enemy" the author Charles C. Haynes tries to establish in the minds of his American readers that Islam is not their enemy. I thought the article was interesting as the author mentions some of the "tolerant" correspondence that he receives from his readers.

Islam and "Moslems" are attacked day and night by all and sundry for being intolerant and full of hate so I thought in this post we could have a look at "tolerance and love" western style. The quotes from the article follow:

"A recent Gallup/USA Today poll reports that 22% of Americans do not want a Muslim as a neighbor."

"Islam is no more a religion than Nazism."

"Islam is Satan's work."

"The president, argues one reader, should declare Islam a "political ideology, no longer to enjoy those freedoms we give a religion."

"As for those Middle Eastern nations that "wish to live in the 12th century," he adds, "we will open that door for them thru the use of nuclear technology... It is time to show those religious fanatics just how peaceful life can be through the melting feeling you get from a nuclear explosion."

In my estimation sentiments like these are widespread amongst the population in the West. Maybe as "Moslems" we have a great deal to learn about tolerance and love from sentiments such as those above.

N.B. Incitement is incitement whether done by a satanic "Moslem" or an educated and freedom loving westerner.

neo-conservative

Who are the neo-conservatives? What do they want ? Should the world be scared of this new type of conservatism ? What is the difference between an ordinary conservative and a "neo-conservative". What do neo-conservatives want from me? Should I as a Muslim be scared of a neo-conservative if I ever came across one ?

Much has been written, spoken and taught about the political
philosophy known as neo-conservatism amongst "those in the know". However the common person is still in the dark about this most important of political philosophies that is shaping the world we live in.

Here is your opportunity to put your view forward regarding this philosophy and its proponents. How do you rate this way of viewing the world ? How should Muslims such as me respond to neo-conservatism ? Is neo-conservatism a force for good or evil in today's world?

Abu Sahajj over at the Wa Salam blog has a post covering this very topic. Its called Leo Strauss and the origins of terrorism. The post has a link to a 3 hour BBC video detailing the history of neo-conservatism.

For many the idea of neo-conservatism has become as synonymous with dark forces as the Illuminate and freemasonry have been in the past. I think it is about time that this philosophy is debated in a wider circle than just "those in the know".

How often have you heard that sentence being said before ? In my case too many times to remember. Is there any truth to such claims? I will leave the answer to that question to your better judgment. However I would like to bring your attention to an article published by The Star newspaper in the northern English town of Sheffield. A town which in the past has been famous for its steel works but has become in more recent times the home of Councilor Jahangir Akhtar.

The Councilor is reported to have made comments in relation to the recent arrests in England and a subsequent letter sent by "leading" Muslims to the government. The letter outlined the view of its authors that the foreign policy of Western governments radicalizes Muslims in Britain.

Councilor Jahangir Akhtar commenting about the letter:

"It is very insensitive at this time and I can't believe they've done it. The impression is that they are making excuses for terrorism and that's wrong."
"Terrorism is a terrible thing. These people are hell-bent on killing their own people. By that I mean our people, all of us, British citizens, white, black or brown."
"We have fantastic rights here and we have a long history of changing things through the democratic process."
"We should have a zero tolerance for these criminals and there is no excuse for what they are doing or trying to do."
"There can be no excuses for carrying out criminal activities here."
"Whatever we think of our foreign policy - and I think many disagree with it - we cannot form that policy based on the fear that someone could bomb our cities or planes."
"Personally I abhor the stance we are taking in Iraq and what's going on in the Lebanon, but we can make no excuses for home-grown terrorism attacking our country, our own people."

Hezbollah Supporter

There is much celebration in Lebanon regarding the latest developments in the war between Israel and Hezbollah. The above picture is taken from the Arabic daily newspaper As-Sharq Al-Awsat and its coverage of the Israeli pull-out from Lebanon.

The image caught my attention for the reason that the lady on the car celebrating is unveiled. This may be no great matter at any other time or place but is of note in this case as the flag in her hand is that of Hezbollah. I thought this was a point of great irony as Hezbollah is an Islamic fundamentalist organization and I suppose they would like all women veiled. The Middle East is a very strange place indeed.

Will the launch of MTV Arabia help in the discourse between the West and Islam ? Time will only tell.

pakistan, muslim
For those who do not know today is the 14th of August and why is this such a special day? Well on the 14th of August 1947 the nation of Pakistan was born. After hundreds of years of British colonial rule the indigenous population of the land were finally allowed to determine their own fate. Which in this case meant partition of British India into two seperate states, one India whose independence day is celebrated on the 15th of August and the other Pakistan.

As can be expected Pakistani independence day is not only celebrated with passion all over Pakistan but by Pakistanis all over the world. It is national holiday akin to the 4th of July for Americans.

Today while I was going about my daily business I came across the sight of young people of "ethnic" origin with Pakistani flags plastered all over their cars and waving massive flags from sun roofs. I do not have any problem with Pakistanis feeling patriotic and wishing to celebrate their Indepedence day. However the people that I saw doing this where not born and breed Pakistanis. The people that I saw celebrating were probably 3rd or 4th generation off-spring of Pakistani immigrants. Some of them I am sure some have never even been to Pakistan never mind know the story of the creation of Pakistan.

For those who emigrate from their homelands whether they be Pakistanis who have moved to the West or Westeners who haved moved to the east an essential question needs to be answered, why be patriotic and wave flags about a place that you left behind ? If it was that great you would have surely stayed and not left home and family to live thousands of miles away in a different land. I know of people who have emigrated to places like Australia , New Zealand and Spain why do they then still cling to the "homeland" that they once came from? This is even more surprising in the case of the 3rd, 4th and 5th generation descendents of immigrants. There are places in the Costa Del Sol in Spain where British immigrants cannot speak a word of Spanish. They pride themselves on wearing Union Jack flags as shorts while downing as many pints of beer and vomiting at the same time. They make no effort to integrate into the host community. There's is life of sun, sex, sangria and dreams of "Blighty".

This brings me onto a debate that is raging here in western Europe around the question of Muslims and integration. Many wonder if Muslims will ever be integrated into western society. Unfortunately integration requires a certain amount of give and take from bothsides. Are Muslims living in the west prepared to give as well as take and are westerners just as much prepared to give as well as take? The answer to this question will determine if Muslims are able to integrate into western society.

In this post we shall look at an article written by former Christian Abdul Malik Le Blanc. The author details how his careful study of the Bible lead him to accept Islam.

I shall reproduce a extract from the article here:

"If you read Luke 1:2-3, you will learn, as I did, that Luke (who was not one of the 12 disciples and never met Jesus) said that he himself was not an eyewitness, and the knowledge he gathered was from eyewitnesses, and not as words inspired by God. Incidentally, why does every "Gospel" begin with the introduction According to. Why "according to?" the reason for this is because not a single one of the gospels carries its original author’s autograph! Even the internal evidence of Matthew 9:9 proves that Matthew was not the author of the first Gospel which bears his name:

"And as Jesus passed forth thence, He (Jesus) saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and He (Jesus) saith unto Him (Matthew), follow me (Jesus). And he (Matthew) arose, and followed Him (Jesus)."

Without any stretch of the imagination, one can see that the He'’s and the Him'’s of the above narration do not refer to Jesus or Matthew as its author, but a third person writing what he saw or heard - a hearsay account and not words inspired by God."

For those interested in reading the whole article acess can be gained by clicking on the link:

Abdul Malik Le Blanc: The Bible Led Me To Islam

The title to this post is not surprising at all. Those who study the Bible with a clear heart will see that the eternal truth of monotheism that Jesus came to teach can only be found in Islam.

Origins Christianity

Bill Lee is the author of the "Steve Sailer Sucks" blog. I found an interesting post while visiting his blog. I was planning to do an in depth post on the this very topic however time constraints have been a trouble. Therefore as a small taster we shall discuss some of the points that Bill Lee raises in his post.

The main thrust of the post is that Trinitarian Christian concepts and the story of the life of Jesus as described in the Bible were not unique or for that matter neither were the Christians the first to come with such claims. Ancient religions long before the "advent" of Christianity claimed that a "God incarnate" descended onto to earth and shed his blood for the sins of the world.

As the post mentions regarding Mithraism, an ancient religion from approximately 2ooo B.C that worshipped Mithra :

"Mithra, like Jesus, is believed to have descended from heaven to earth, shared a last supper with twelve of this followers, and redeemed mankind from sin by shedding blood and rising from the dead."

From memory I believe that there are 11 other stories of "gods" incarnate descending to earth and dying for the sins of the world. All of them were well before the "advent" of Trinitarian Christianity.

These religious beliefs being identical to Trinitarian Christian theology may just be a coincidence or they may be the answer to the question; what is the origin of Trinitarian Christianity.

Hashim Amla, Terrorist, Dean Jones
It appears that the only thing that some need to justify a conviction on the grounds of terrorism in this day and age is a Muslim sounding name and beard.

Dean Jones former Australian cricketer, coach and television commentator is in trouble. While commentating on a series of matches between South Africa and hosts Sri Lanka Dean Jones was heard on a live broadcast saying the word terrorist.

The "terrorist" in question is pictured above he is South African cricketer Hashim Amla. When the Amla took a catch Dean Jones's comment that "the terrorist has got another wicket" was broadcast live throughout South Africa. In his defense Dean Jones claims that the comment was never supposed to have been transmitted on live air and that he thought that he was speaking in a commercial break.

For Mr. Jones to make such a comment one naturally assumes that this latter day Sherlock Holmes has done a great deal of forensic investigations and intelligence gathering in order to be able to "convict" Hashim Amla of the crime of terrorism. If you thought that then you would be completely and sadly mistaken. As far as I can see the only crimes that Hashim Amla has committed to warrant such a "conviction" are two fold:

(1) He is Muslim. How does "Detective" Dean Jones know this? Obviously his name is a dead give away.

(2) He has a beard.

With this second piece of evidence the case for the prosecution is sealed. There is no doubt that Hashim Amla must be a terrorist as he is a Muslim and he has a beard.

Guilt by association is a wonderful rule and can be used not only by Dean Jones to label Hashim Amla a terrorist it can also be used by me in the following manner:

Dean Jones is a white Australian by my reckoning. If I were to use our wonderful rule of guilt by association it means that Dean Jones is white, murdering and racist who is responsible for the genocide of Australia's original inhabitants the
Aborigines. What is good for the goose is good for the gander

As a result of his " informed comment" Dean Jones has been sacked from his job as a free-lance television commentator:

"Jones, who makes most of his income from cricket commentary, will not work again for the world's biggest producer of cricket.

"We've terminated Dean Jones' freelance contract with immediate effect," said Ray Reed, communications director for Taj TV, whose channel Ten Sports is beamed into 50 million households around the world.

"We've got a diverse cross-section of nationalities and religions working for us, so as a company we have a zero-tolerance policy regarding such comments. We've condemned the statement in the strongest possible terms.

"It's an unfortunate situation. He made the comment when he felt it wasn't going out on air. It was during an ad break (in Sri Lanka) but it was carried on the South African channel. Even off-air those comments aren't acceptable within our company."

Should he have been sacked ? I do not know. I am all for freedom of expression and as such Dean Jones was just articulating what he felt. Should he have lost his job for expressing the truth as he saw it? I leave that your better judgment.

The topic of honor killings and Muslims has been covered before in this blog. The story of Samaira Nazir who was stabbed to death by her family because she wanted to marry someone not chosen for her by her family and the resulting the loss of honor is well documented.

In this post we shall look at what the Bible has to say about honor killings. Does the Bible promote or condemn acts where the loss of family honor must be regained by the killing of the offender?

Let us look at Leviticus 21 verse 9:

"And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire."

It seems that the verse is very clear. As I understand it the God of the Bible wants to burn with fire and I assume it means to death the daughter of a priest if she plays the "whore". The reason for the punishment is also in mentioned in the verse: she profaneth her father.

There are no verses in the Qur'an which support the killing of family members because they profane their families. I wish I could say the same about the Bible.

Authorities in the Italian town of Riccione are planning to allow women only areas on local beaches. The development is aimed at attracting more Muslim women to the resort town. The Washington Post reports that the plans will begin with segregating and partioning an area of about 1000 metres to allow a womans only area:

"The city council of Riccione, a popular resort on Italy's Adriatic coast about 90 miles east of Florence, has said it is prepared to authorize requests to set up partitions on parts of the shoreline to satisfy requests from the town's growing numbers of Arab and Muslim tourists."

I do not think "developments" like this are a welcome addition to the current handbook of western political correctness. If you read the whole article the reasoning behind this move is not a sudden love of Muslim women or their veils. It is rather a love for the increasing hard currency that Muslim tourists bring. As such I hope people see it for the ploy that it is.

Sikh, Attack, American

That is precisely what 20 years old Everett Thompson thought he was doing when he stabbed his 40 year old neighbor in the neck.

Everett Thompson is now in Santa Clara police custody and is being held under suspicion of attempted murder and a hate crime. The only problem to this story of "heroism" is that Everett Thompson did not know enough of religions or the world to differentiate between a Sikh and member of the Taliban.

For Everett Thompson stabbed in the neck Iqbal Singh who is not a member nor probably has he ever been a member of the Taliban and has most likely never even been a Muslim in his life. Iqbal Singh the victim in this case is a follower of the Indian religion of Sikhism.

Sikhism originates in the Punjab region of India and is as distinct from Islam as is Buddhism or Hinduism. The current Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is a Sikh is pictured above meeting American President George Bush.

Its a real sorry state of affairs but just shows what blind hate can do.
