I am told that God is love , Love is God, God is Jesus, Jesus is God, God is the Holy Spirit and the Holy spirit is God and irrespective of the nature of Jesus or God should I say they all love me. They love me so much that all I have to do is accept that they all died for me on the cross or some of them died on the cross for me in order that I may enter the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven . While you are reading this post dear reader your probably thinking that I am one confused individual and you would be 100% right. I am so confused by the Trinity that it has put me off Christianity for life. I cannot accept that God the supreme being of all creation is the author of such a concept of confusion as the Trinity is. I read in one Christian book that the explanation of the trinity is thus : illogical, irrational and just requires blind faith. I suppose that blind faith is enough for some people.
One of the readers of this blog in the comments section of a previous post stated that Paul or should I say St. Paul had met Jesus. I believe this to be wholly incorrect. If I remember correctly from my Bible study classes at school Paul was originally a Jew by the name of Saul. He was well known for his hatred and persecution of Christians until a journey to Damascus. While on the road to Damascus Saul saw a dream in which Christ spoke to him. As far as I know that was the first time that Paul/Saul claimed to have seen or spoken to Jesus. So to say that Paul/Saul had actually met Jesus in a physical sense would be strecthing the truth a little too far.
I would love to stand corrected by the readers of this blog to any of the details above. Knowledge is not a birth right of any of us but rather must be gained.

I thought that you might like to see this web page:

http://www.shabirally.com/debates.asp

It has a series of debates between Shabir Ally a Muslim and various other Christian theologians. There are a wide range of subjects discussed not only Islam but Christianity too. Have a good look around. I would like to read your thoughts about the debates.

Thanks to you Toby at least now I know where you come from:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/squarestpeg/

Just a added comment from one of your friends:

squarestpeg has a new avocation: verbally jousting with a Muslim blogger who calls himself Kashimiri Nomad . I never suspected that Tobes could be such a patient person....

By the way Kashmiri is spelt incorrectly in the comment.

Take care, you already seem to have all the answers and you certainly don't need me . I don't think that I have anything more to say to you or your comments. I hope you find the peace that you want for yourself and others.

Below is a set of comments by squarestpeg http://squarestpeg.blogspot.com/ The comments are in reply to post on my blog entitled : Would you wish Islam... dated Tuesday 6th of December.

Squarestpeg has asked some questions in his comments and I think that it is only fair for him and me to make some attempt at a reply so here goes:

"This presumptuous notion that everyone in the world needs to be like you, think like you, behave like you;" I am sorry to say that I do not have this notion and nowhere in the post does it say that you must be like me, think like me and behave like me. Rather the intent behind the post was to ask questions that the reader may not have necessarily thought about before. For granted the style may be too abrupt for some but is it not that which we call the right to free speech? To say that I have a presumptuous notion is this regard is itself highly presumptuous.

"I suspect this one of the reasons Muslims engender as much negative response as you claim they do. " If I understand your statement correctly then it is the fault of Muslims that they engender a negative response. No doubt there are many bad Muslims in this world but to blame the whole nation of 1000 million on the acts of a few is absurd to say the least. A Muslim in today's world does not have the luxury of being able to have a negative or positive response, he/she is labeled irrespective of rational considerations and thrown to the wolves.

It's one thing to love your own religion, to cherish its tenets and rules; it's quite another to denigrate everyone else's choices and ask questions like the one you pose here. As I said in the previous reply maybe the style is too abrupt for some but sometimes awkward questions need to be asked to demonstrate to the reader the gravity of the situation that he/she is dealing with.

Can you see how offensive this is to non-Muslims? I have not sworn or used foul language in any of my posts. For as many people who find the post offensive there will be others who do not. This blog is read by people from all over the world some Muslim and some not and as such I cannot please all of the people all of the time. If you still feel offended by the question just remember it is only a question and not a statement of fact. You may reject it or accept it but the intent behind it is to allow for discussion on issues that the ordinary reader may not have thought about before.

You speak of the hurt and insult you take from criticisms and prejudice directed at you. Are you not subject to the same rules of tolerance and courtesy as those you criticize? Or do you think that you are, by dint of your adherence to a religion you believe is best, above the rules of polite society? For a surety I am not above the rules of polite society. Please remember one thing dear reader you are not the only one reading this post. There will be many others who are not so logical and rational as you but are down right prejudiced and espouse hate for Islam. When writing a post I have to take into account my own feeling on a subject and the ability of the one reading to comprehend what I say. I take for granted that you are a rational individual but not all are as well read or intelligent as you. So in order to develop and discussion on a subject I may need some blunt language to get the conversation started.

I'm not trying to be rude; not trying to start an argument; I'm genuinely interested in how you justify your attitude while condemning similar behavior in others. Rest assured I do not think that you are rude or trying to start an argument. I see nothing wrong in my attitude but I am always open to suggestions to the contary. In ending you are right to say that I believe Islam is the way to God and I make no excuses for that. Just as any Christian would feel about his religion or Hindu about his religion. I am not here to insult non-Muslims but to air my views and read comments from the readers.

About Islam? Is it television or radio or the print media or the internet? The sources that you use to make judgments about Islam are they from Muslims or non-Muslims? Do you think that any of the above has an effect upon the way you judge Islam and Muslims?

Modern technology has once again facilitated the breaking of taboos in Saudi Arabia thanks to Bluetooth the short range wireless technology that is now available on most mobile phones. Saudi's youth can confidently exchange messages between the sexes free from the familiar prying eyes of family in particular and society in general and without using the phone's network service...........

Upon any of your loved ones? The answer to that is probably no if you are a non-Muslim. But may I ask why that is? Is it prejudice, hatred or ignorance? What is so bad about Islam that there are over 1ooo million Muslims in the world but that it is not good enough for you or your relatives?

Intelligent people in this world. More likely than not they are more intelligent than I can ever hope to be. Some of them may even read this post. So I would like to ask them a question if I may. The question is this :

What is the Manifest Destiny and does it relate to the modern world?

So if you have a couple of minutes and you know the answer just drop me a line. If you don't know the answer may I suggest some homework so that you may partake in this post.

Its now the turn of the United Kingdom to legalise homosexual marriages. As they say horses for courses and each must lie in his/her own bed at the end of the day. I don't know what you feel about this development, is it a good thing or a bad thing?

Who is Pat Robertson? I had never heard of him until maybe about a month ago. It is claimed that he said that some South American leader should be assassinated. With which authority does he speak? Is he widely followed in America?
I found his comments rather surprising! Does it befit a man of God to call for the assassination of other human beings. Isn't the maxim to turn the other cheek or does this individual show us the real face of Christianity?
If these are his opinions on South American rulers I wonder what he thinks about Muslims and their treatment? I can pretty much guess the answer to that question. The words satanic, worship and forever to burn in Hell come to mind.
Don't you think that we Muslims are so ungrateful? There are people like Mr. Pat Robertson who wish to give us the love of Christ and we just plain blank refuse! If only the Holy Spirit could touch us then maybe we might not be such primitive ungrateful brown skinned infidel savages.

Why O why do people always look at me in a strange way? I think it maybe the fact that I have a rather long beard but is that any excuse? Is it because I have three eyes or three heads, most certainly not! Then how can a beard be so threatening to a ordinary member of the public? I do not approach people in a threatening manner but rather in a way that is quite endearing but still to no avail! They view me as the embodiment of all evil, is that fair ?

I am just thinking out aloud here. But is there any reason why you do not want to live an Islamic lifestyle, free from fornication, alcoholism, drugs and crime. If we all became good Muslims I am sure that these evils could if not be eradicated be at least cut down to a minimum.
    Just a thought.
