Christianity. As far as I understand it boils down to this: God so loved the world that He sent himself in the form of a man to Earth so other bad people could kill him and with the blood spilled at the crucifixion we as human beings are all forgiven. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong here.

My questions are the following regarding this:

(i) If God is God why would He need to come to Earth to forgive people ? Can He not forgive without being in human form?
(ii) When Jesus was meant to have been crucified was he crucified as God or as Man ? If the answer is God you cannot kill God as He is Ever living. If as man, one man cannot be held responsible for the sins of the world.
(iii) Why does blood need to be spilt anyway for atonement? Can the process not be accomplished without a blood sacrifice. I hate to say it and I hope that I offend no one by this opinion but it sounds all too much like a vampire story l for me.
As far as I can tell this doctrine is not from the time of Jesus but came with Paul who had never met Jesus . So rather than calling it Christian belief we should call it Pauline accusation.
I am sure in the end we will all find out one way or the other.

..like hearing English spoken with an Indian accent? Is it not the most lip biting experience you have ever had? I am not poking fun at anyone in this post but just airing some observations. For instance I do not particularly like the English accent that is used in the American deep south or the accent used by some regional areas in Britain. So please do not think that I am having a go at the Indian accent from prejudice. As I said I do not find it very soothing to the ears. I also understand that for many English is not their mother tongue and so it is difficult for them. I just laugh at people who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about but are determined to say it in English and to top it off with an Indian accent. I think such people should be banned from speaking English in public or in private. Any butchering of the language must be done solely in their minds.

Can you believe it more and more western women are converting to Islam. Even with all the black propaganda against the subject of women and Islam.
98 are listed in the site linked above. I am sure that there must be many more. I am also sure at all the readers to this blog would like to congratulate them and welcome their conversions to Islam. The very same Islam that was the religion of the Prophets Abraham, Moses and Jesus Son of Mary amongst many others sent by God to mankind.

Not all 30,000 Swiss women could have be beaten into conversion. I am sure that there will be some one no doubt who will believe that though . It appears that the more people hate Islam the more it seems to grow, why do you think that is?
Your ideas will be gratefully received.

I wish to look in this post at some of the reasons for the underlying commentary that some politicians and political pundits have given to the recent events in France.

As far as I know this is the chain of events as characterized by the media:

(i) Two youths (I am not certain of which ethnicity ) were being chased by the French police. These two youths some how became electrocuted while being pursued.
(ii) When news of the incident became known to the public. Youths from the suburbs (read projects for an American equivalent) started to riot against perceived police brutality.

With this Pandora's box was opened. Years of frustration due to racism, alienation and unemployment came to the surface. The suburbs in France are normally inhabited by immigrants and their descendants not all of them come from one nationality, religion or ethnicity. The point is that many who are rioting in France are not Muslims some are African non-Muslims, some are Vietnamese, some are ethnically white French and some are indeed Muslim but who gets the blame for all the troubles, the Muslims do! And here is the problem that there is a section of people who have an axe to grind whether it be on the television, radio or in the print media and that axe to grind is Islam. When the events in France occurred they rushed out in glee.
"See we told you so these Muslims are savages, they are not humans like us!"
"Islam starts its Holy war in France"
"Its only a matter of time before the violence spreads throughout Western Europe"
"Its time to kick these Muslims out of Europe"
"These ungrateful Muslims, we give them homes and money and they still riot!"
Some French politicians have even blamed polygamy for the events as surprising as that is.

The problem here is not Islam or Muslims the problem is the alienation that many feel. They are French nationals some of them 3rd generation decedents of immigrants but are still being treated like second class citizens in land of their birth. They have no opportunity for social advancement or wealth.
Once the French ruling classes decide to tackle this issue of alienation maybe then they will no longer have to blame Islam for their woes.

I thought you might like to see this website. The owner of the site is Yusuf Estes he is an American, former Christian preacher and ex-catholic priest. The site details his journey to Islam among other things. It is quite an interesting site.

Have you passed a great deal of stools at the very thought of Avian influenza or as it is more commonly known as bird flu? There is currently a worldwide panic regarding this menace that threatens all of us - man and bird alike. If this is the big one( the pandemic) that Virologists have been waiting for, it may mean the death of millions around the world, race and creed being no exception. Truly a mind concentrating/ bowel moving thought.

I hope that you have all stocked up on your vaccines of Tamiflu from the pharmaceutical firm Roche as no other company has the license to produce the vaccine. There is also the point that Roche will not allow any other firm to produce it as it cuts into their profits.

In ending the lesson of this post is if you can get your hands on it, you could do a lot worse than having a source of Tamiflu for yourself and your family.

....a Muslim today? I would like to hear from those that read this humble contribution to the blogsphere what are their personal and not so personal reasons as to why they have not as yet become a Muslim or why they will never become a Muslim?
As you can probably tell I am a Muslim and as such I think that Islam is the way to God or as we Muslims say Allah. But I would like to hear from you people why you think it is not or if you do think it is the way why have you not become a Muslim yet or if you did become what was your journey to Islam?

Thanks in advance for your replies and comments.

....the thyme of stereotypes from the last post. Are there any stereotypes that you have regarding Muslims? I have listed some of the ones that I think people may have:

(i) All Muslims are polygamous.
(ii) All Muslims are either Arab or Pakistani.
(iii) All Muslims beat females in general.
(iv) All Muslims are blood thirsty murderers.
(v) All Muslims worship Satan.
(vi) All Muslim women are oppressed and unable to live their lives without the fear of being beaten or being killed at any moment..
(vii) All Muslims wear long Arabian robes and speak English with a thick Arab accent.
(viii) All Muslims are on welfare and State handouts.
(ix) All Muslims are liars.
(x) All Muslims need someone else like me (more intelligent than them) to show them how to lead their lives as they are ignorant savages.

I would like to hear your views on this topic and maybe clear some misunderstandings up.

As a Muslim I always hear other Muslims telling me that a non-Muslim has no purpose in life. They are not like us they say, they have no laws governing their lives such as praying five times a day or giving their wealth in charity or fasting especially in the month of Ramadan. Having said that how do you fill your time and what is your purpose in life? The impression that many Muslims have is that you work Monday to Friday and everything between Friday night and Sunday night is blur of alcohol, fornication, music and maybe drugs. If this is the case do you yearn for anything more fulfilling or are you just happy with the way things are in your life.
As a non-Muslim please take this opportunity to explain to me a Muslim and others besides me what is your purpose in life. I am sure that the picture that I have painted above is a stereotypical image that many Muslims have but is it true for the majority, is it true for you?

For those of you that don't know what the title of this post means let me take a minute of your time and I entrust that you maybe enlightened somewhat what by what I write. So here goes .

The word surah comes from the Arabic to mean chapter and Ikhlas means purity. Therefore Surah Ikhlas means the Chapter of Purity. It is the 112 chapter in the Quran and was revealed in Mecca. What follows is the chapter in the Arabic script and then an English interpretation .

(1) Say He is Allah, (the) One.
(2) The Self-Sufficient Master
(3) He begets not, nor was He begotten
(4) And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him
I have encountered many people who believe that the Creator of the Universe which the Muslims worship is some how different to the Creator that is mentioned in the Bible. They believe that Allah is some false god created by pagan Arabs before Islam. This is not true Muslims worship the same God that Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Joseph, Jonah, John and Jesus Son of Mary all worshipped.
The above chapter is the embodiment of the fundamental pillar of Islamic teaching namely the Islamic concept of monotheism. That the Creator and One worthy of worship is Singular, He is the Self-Sufficent Master who is not in need of anyone or anything. He begets not, nor was He begotten. He has none co-equal or comparable unto Him.

Are you one of those non-Muslims that hate Islam? If the answer to that question is yes, I would like to ask you why?
Islam has been here for quite a while infact for over 1400 years but since the events of the last couple of years it appears that everyone has suddenly become an expert on Islam. There are those that are experts in Quranic exegesis, those that are expert in interpretation of the Prophetic traditions, those that expert in the inner intricacies of the Shariah, those that are expert in Arabic linguistics and those that are expert in Muslim cultures and societies anywhere from North Africa in the West to Indonesia in the East. With all of this expertise coming from watching a few television items and surfing the net for material.
I am surprised to find that people who have never studied Islam in any formal setting whether it be in the confines of universities in the West or religious instruction from Islamic scholars in the East have an almost uncanny ability to make judgments on a religion that they are at best in no scholastic position to pass judgment upon and at worst inciting hatred for Islam and Muslims.
Having said that there are people in this world that are determined not to let a small detail like lack of knowledge or the mirage of limited knowledge get in the way of their preconceived prejudices in the hope that someone may actually take them seriously.

For those of you uninitiated in this topic the meaning of henpecked is from the transitive verb to henpeck. The definition of to henpeck as stated in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary is: to subject (one's husband) to persistent nagging and domination.
If the following applies to you, you must please seek the help of a psychiatrist as soon as is possible. This condition of being henpecked could be seriously injurious to your mental health and ego:

(i) Does your wife decide what you eat and when?
(ii) Does your wife decide at what time you leave your home and what time you return?
(iii) Does your wife decide who your friends are and those who are not ?
(iv) Does your wife decide what clothes you wear ?
(v) Does your wife decide which people you can talk to and those you cannot?
(vi) Does your wife decide if you see your parents and other family members ?
(vii) Does your wife decide whether you agree on a particular matter or not?
(viii) Does your wife decide when you can use the toilet and when you cannot ?
(ix) Does your wife decide what channels you watch on television.
(x) And finally does your wife decide at what time your friends have to leave your home?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes you must immediately seek a psychiatric opinion.
Please husbands as a fellow man I plead with you do not think that by being dominated by your wives they increase in their love for you or respect you anymore.
Rather they consider you to be a F. L. C (Fully Loaded Colon) more worthy of being defecated on than being respected.
I say to my fellow man - you have been warned!
Life is too short to be a F.L.C and then to be defecated on as well.

Please don't let yourself be henpecked.

I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and it is just such a pain in the finger. Daily finger prickings to test blood sugar levels have got the best of me. Anyone who does not want to change his/her lifestyle should be warned, don't end up with diabetes because it changes everything and the constant threat of raised blood sugar levels is always in the back of the mind.

Since I have been diagnosed with this condition I have found some interesting information; there appears to be a link between diabetes, insulin resistance and camel's milk

Now I only need to find a couple of female camels- which is near impossible around where I currently live and be able to milk them. Short of this it looks like I will have to stick to the usual medication and lifestyle changes ( exercise and diet). If any one knows of where I can get camel's milk I would be more than grateful for the information.

We have a very long tradition of where I live that the local youths have a wondrous and rather unique way of celebrating Eid. I don't now how you celebrate Eid in your part of the world but this is what they do here:

(i) Have a hair cut must be short back and sides. For those of you who are uninitiated in this terminology what that means is that the person's hair is cut two different lengths. Namely shorter around the back of the head and sides.

(ii) Wear their latest clothes bought preferably the night before Eid.

(iii) Have their car kitted with speakers and a sound system that can be used in any major sporting or pop venue any where in the world.

(iv) Have those same speakers pumping out at I might say the most inhuman sound levels, the latest Bhangra ( Punjabi folk music fused with disco, reggae, techno, house, rap, ragga or jungle)

(v) Take out the flag of their parents countries and rig it on the aforementioned car.

Once all of this is done the person ready to celebrate Eid.

The manner in which the celebrating is namely done is to drive up and down a local road near shops with the music on full blast, whilst flag waiving and trying to hold up as much traffic as possible. Once the person has done that and reaches the end of the particular road the festivities don't stop there because he turns the car around and does it all over again. This may be repeated hundreds of times a night.
With that the celebration ends and the person returns home and ends off his festivities for the night.

A STORY ABOUT RICHARD THE LION HEART

When I was a little boy I used to travel every weekday in term time to school. You may well ask there is nothing special about that millions of children all over the world do that every day of the year. Well I have not completed the story yet. As I was saying, whilst sitting in the history class at school I was taught about the Crusades and how Richard traveled over to the Holy Land and fought those evil Saracens.
I would day dream and imagine myself being with Richard on those fantastic voyages, on horse back traveling from place to place and conquering everywhere in between, completely obvious to the reality of the situation. Only as I became older and able to discern things for myself did I realise that Richard was infact a Christian crusaders, the Holy Land was infact modern day Palestine and the evil Saracens were infact Muslims with Salah Ad-Din as their leader.
Not all this withstanding the day dreams helped to make the lessons pass faster.
